-Must-have items to finish the installation: Back cover sticker.
How to replace
Step 1. Power off your phone.
Step 2. Remove the SIM card tray.
Attention: Here the phone we tear down belongs to the Z3 Dual, but the steps to tear down the Z3 are totally the same as follows.
Step 3. Heat up the top and bottom of the back cover.
Step 4. Use the suction cup to open a gap.
Step 5. Insert the guitar pick to enlarge the gap.
Step 6. Slide the guitar picks along the sides slowly and carefully.
Attention: Do not insert the guitar pick exceeding 3mm to avoid breaking the flex.
Step 7. Remove the back cover.
Step 8. Release the battery connector.
Step 9. Free the adhesive tap fastened on the battery.
Step 10. Pry up the battery by spudger.
Attention: In order to insure the safety of the phone during the dis-assembly, we remove the battery here, you can choose not to remove it to save time.
Step 11. Undo the two Phillips screws fastening on the motherboard.
Step 12. Remove the three black bracket.
Step 13. Release all the connectors on the motherboard.
Step 14. Remove the motherboard.
Step 15. Remove the transparent plastic fastening cover.
Step 16. Release the flex cover whereon the headphone jack.
Step 17. Cut the adhesive between the headphone jack and the middle frame.
Step 18. Remove the headphone jack.
